In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the ‘B’ company fight their way through snowy mountaintops, dense jungles and dusty villages. With a heavy arsenal of deadly weapons and a slew of vehicles to aid them, the crew set off on their mission and they are ready to blow up, shoot down, blast through, wipe out and utterly destroy anything that gets in their way. Total destruction is the name of the game, delivered as only the DICE next generation Frostbite™ engine can. Either online or offline, enemies will soon learn there is nowhere to hide. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the PC.

“Bad Company 2 takes everything that players liked in the original and ups the ante – more vehicles, more destruction and more team play,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer Battlefield Franchise, DICE. “Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past classic coming to life with brand new technology that we’re eager to get into players hands.”

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 website has been updated recently with a link to pre-order the game from Gamestop. According to Gamestop.com, the pre-order will ship out on September 28, 2009. Now, Gamestop has been putting release dates on barely announced games for as long as I can remember, but the fact that this is directly linked from the BFBC2 website gives it at least a little bit of weight. No information on the PC edition yet, though.

The footage of Battlefield Bad Company 2 was absolutely intense, delivering on the key tenants of Battlefield games that we’re so familiar with, including team play, online vehicle warfare, and destruction. As one of the attendees said so poetically, “this game is better than porn.”

The folks at DICE will be showcasing the multiplayer game play of Battlefield Bad Company 2, however did mention that they are focusing on providing more vehicles to the player, ensuring that the physics and controls for the vehicles are better than the original Battlefield Bad Company and are adding more weapons and gadgets, promising to deliver a game superior to others in the market.

[You may remember Battlefield Senior Producer Karl-Magnus Troedsson as the guy who introduced us to Frostbite. Well, he's back in this interview with Gamereactor. In the interview, he talks about what changes have been made in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and the plans for the PC version.

"Will it be like a Battlefield 3 for PC players, or would you say that's something for...later?"
"Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on PC is not Battlefield 3. Battlefield 3, we haven't really announced anything about that yet."

FORTY-FIED MULTIPLAYER
EA hasn't yet made any announcements about the multiplayer side of the game. The only thing we know for certain is that 40 people will be able to duke it out on to servers when the sequel hits rather than Bad Company's previous player cap of 24. New game modes and plenty of maps a shoo-in however, that's what sequels are made for after all.
